| PNP RSAU Sniper Initiated Tower Assault |
| Assaulting a tower fortified by hostage-takers can be a grueling tactical challenge. But through speed, coordination and violence of action, and backed by a sniper, an assault team can take down the bad guys and rescue the hostage. In the first assault attempt, the sniper is not added to the equation and the team takes casualties. Take note of the lead operative on the ladder team, who will take a head shot on the first assault. He is the most exposed member of the assault force and has no available cover. For purposes of the training and for safety, he is allowed to enter the building, even though he is already “killed”.
In the second assault, the sniper is introduced, providing perfect cover for the assault team that moves unscathed into the tower to overwhelm the bad guys inside. The rappel team also introduces another element of cover and force for the team |
| Building Clearing Maneuver |
| As demonstrated by the counter-terrorism team above, unison and coordination of movement are the hallmarks of an effective team. Executing a text book stack up approach to the objective, each and every member of the team is aware of his role and those of the men before and after him. After using a high-tech video entry tool to scope out the location of the bad guys, the team then bursts into action, maintaining spacing and field of fire to clear the building of bad guys. |
| Real Action Wargame Tournament Footage |
| Last year ATACS burst into the scene by conducting its own CQB Force-on-Force tournament, an invitational competition that featured members of the PNP, the Philippine Paintball team and Mil-Sim Airsoft players. Covered by the media, the tournament made waves not only through its realistic scenarios, but also because all teams were only allowed to use the Real Action Marker in the combat. This leveled the playing field, allowing only the skills and coordination of the team to become the deciding factor in the games. |
